About Elizabeth
My own professional singing journey began when I was 16, I began taking singing lessons which focussed on Classical (Bel Canto) Technique and continued to do so for over a decade. I soon began performing in Musical Theatre in Classical and Contemporary roles, I also worked in corporate band work, cover bands including an ABBA tribute, original bands, session singing and as a solo recording artist. I completed a three-year course at Ensemble Acting Studios and then a degree in writing and cultural studies (BA in Communications) at UTS. As an actor, I have performed in many plays, short films, web series, film and TV. As my love for a broad range of music and singing styles developed, I discovered MIX and contemporary singing and began my own training using these techniques. This allowed me to develop my own technique to be able to sing across all genres of music in a healthy and fulfilling way. My love of teaching and coaching came with the desire to help people find the joy in singing, to fall in love with their voice and to reach their highest potential. I believe in a holistic way of teaching, considering each student’s mind body and spirit, and how each of these contributes to the singer’s development and journey. Each student is treated with care and respect, as we work towards improving the voice but also importantly, and making sure each lesson is also fun and engaging. I especially enjoy helping students really engage with their chosen material, to present an emotionally connected and resonating performance. Be it for professional performances, auditions, studio recording or just for fun. When I am not teaching or working on my own musical projects, you will find me writing, gardening, walking our dogs, or experimenting with baking. It doesn't matter whether you want to be a professional singer, are just curious about your voice, or preparing a song to sing for your loved ones, I am here to help. |
